Holyhead marina debris and invasive non-native species

Holyhead marina in north Wales was severely damaged in Storm Emma earlier this year. There is a possibility that debris from the marina could wash up on the west coast of our shores. The debris may be carrying the invasive non-native species Carpet Sea Squirt Didemnum vexillum and so all relevant authorities across the UK are working together to ask people to report any debris they may find. Reports have already been received in the north west of England.

For more information please read this advice note which includes a reporting number for debris found in Scotland and information the relevant authorities would like collected.
